Use of floral foam will be discontinued in 2027

 

The Committee would like to encourage exhibitors not to use floral foam to support and arrange their Horticultural exhibits this year. Alternatives are newspaper, moss (which can be reused each time), twigs, metal pin holders, chicken wire, flower frogs and Agrawool (see Internet for stocklists).  We will be discontinuing the use of floral foam in Highcliffe Horticultural Society Shows from 2027 in line with RHS policy because available floral foams are non-biodegradable and contain micro-plastics and known carcinogens which can enter water supplies.
